Sessions Update

jeff sessions cartoon

While the MSM has been playing up the Trump-Russia thing for the past week others in the administration have been doing horrible things that have gotten virtually no coverage.  Of the political stooges that have riled me this week, Jeff Sessions is at the top of the list.  With complete disregard to the principles of Freedom and Liberty, in the past 7 days Sessions has given his blessing for religious zealots to discriminate, affirmed his position on conviction-less asset forfeiture, and doubled down on his anti-weed crusade.

Presale access to Depeche Mode’s 2017 Tour

February 24, 2017 | 0 Comments

Depeche Mode's 2017 Spirit TourDepeche Mode’s new album is set to release in March and they will be announcing their USA tour dates sometime soon thereafter.  I’ve been a big fan of Depeche Mode for years and love their live shows.  It’s unfortunate that too many times scalpers and robo-buyers snatch up all the best seats before honest concert goers get a chance.  This year you can sign up to for Depeche Mode presale concert access and enter a contest to meet the band.

Politifact is more Politopinion

February 7, 2017 | 0 Comments

With all the brew ha ha over “fake news” lately a lot of people have been turning to supposedly nonpartisan sites like Politifact to verify the truthiness of statements made by public figures.  The problem with Politifact is that the stories are written by humans with biases, intended or not.  Those biases can mildly or sometime dramatically slant a rating at which Politifact has 6:  true, mostly true, half true, mostly false, false, and pants on fire.  If you only visit their site every so often you would likely not notice the inconsistencies routinely exhibited and one could easily argue that their use of “context” to justify ratings is warranted.

The MTV show The Shannara Chronicles is based on a series of books by Terry Brooks.  As would be expected from an MTV program, the cast is young and good looking.  The lead hottie (IMO) is Austin Butler, the 25 year old blond that plays Wil Ohmsford.  Wil is a half-elf that joins forces with the elf princes Amberle and a sexy rover/con-artist named Eretria, played by Poppy Drayton and Ivana Baquero.

Liberal’s Rule Change Bites Back

November 22, 2016 | 0 Comments

It has been over a week since Hillary lost the election to Trump and the fear expressed by liberals about what the Trumpster’s administration will look like is coming into focus.  Remember the far left elite that blindly followed Obama into a first term that benefited a majority in both chambers of congress?  Now, imagine the same thing – except, flip the script to a group of ultra right wingnuts.  It is a good thing that the founding fathers understood the power inherent to the Executive and put in place a check, approval through advice and consent of the U.S. senate to Executive appointments.

New Security at AMS – Schiphol

November 20, 2016 | 0 Comments

As a Delta Skymiles collector, when traveling to Europe my preferred airport for connecting is Amsterdam – Schiphol (AMS).  Most of the Delta flights leave late afternoon or early evening with a 7 – 10 am arrival in Amsterdam.  AMS is the main hub of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines which has been able to get me every destination desired, but once.  Sometimes when returning there is a long layover time.  My last journey home had an 18 hour layover in Amsterdam so I decided to book a room for the night.
